Holding a Phd in Engineering from Imperial College, Mahnaz is Managing Director of Citi EMEA Corporate and Investment Banking.
Before joining Citi in 2013, Mahnaz has worked 19 years in UBS, where she headed the EMEA Debt Capital Markets, leading a team of 140 people responsible for bond and loan origination, securitisation, liability management, derivatives, pensions and business. During her time at UBS she has received a UBS Senior Management award for high-achieving Managing Directors as well as UBS "Cross Division" New Business Prize.
Mahnaz previously served on the British Business Bank’s investment committee, which provides capital to non-traditional SME lending platforms, such as peer-to-peer lenders, FundingCircle and Zopa. As a Strong advocate of financial technology innovation and venture capital investment, she has advised new platforms for working capital markets and is an investor in Start-ups in the FinTech space. She is also co-chair of Citi’s EMEA Banking executive committee for women’s leadership and promotes STEM initiatives in education.
Mahnaz was named one of Financial News’ Top 100 Women in Finance for EMEA in 2010, 2013 and 2015, and has been profiled in Brummell Magazine as one of the City’s most influential women in 2010.
